So many wise words have written over the centuries, words that inspire, guide and encourage reflection. I often wish I could carry them in my head for quick and easy reference instead of watching them float past me on a computer screen or in a book where I forget to mark the page.
Several years ago I began to write down my favorite quotes, and began sharing them with friends on Facebook. I was pleased to discover that others liked them as much as I did! That is how The Little Book of Hope was born. I wanted to give others the quick and easy access that I had always wanted. Now available in print or ebook, you will find the ordering info below.
I personally like the print copy because it is small and fits in my purse or in the side pocket of my car door. I love being able to pull it out for a pick me up when I have a few moment’s to spare.
I couldn’t possibly fit all of the wise words I continue to discover in one volume, so I am adding them here. Who knows maybe I’ll expand the first volume, or create a second! I would like to invite you to share your favorite quote in a comment and share any I have here in your social media circles and beyond.
Hope is the struggle of the soul, breaking loose from what is perishable, and attesting her eternity. ~ Herman Melville Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it. ~Bill Cosby ”Within every woman there is a wild and natural creature, a powerful force, filled with good instincts, passionate creativity, and ageless knowing.” ~ Clarissa Pinkola Estes ”A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.” ~Author Unknown Life is not a problem to be solved, nor a question to be answered. Life is a mystery to be experienced. ~Alan Watts To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~ Joseph Chilton Pearce “It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” ~Lou Holtz “At some point, sometimes in our twenties, sometimes our thirties, most often the forties, although some women aren’t really ready until they’re fifty or sixty or even in their seventies or eighties, we begin at last to let the soul lead. The power shifts away from brickabrack and frick-frack to soulfulness. And though the soul does not assume the lead by killing off the ego, the ego is demoted, one might say, and given a different assignment in the psyche, which is essentially to submit to the concerns of the soul.” ~Clarissa Pinkola Estés “At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.” ~ Albert Schweitzer A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it. ~ Jean deal Fontaine “All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.” – Havelock Ellis “Each woman has potential access to the river beneath the river. She arrives there through deep meditation, dance, writing, painting, prayermaking, singing, drumming, active imagination.” ~Clarissa Pinkola Estes “Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” ~Khalil Gibran “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” ~Albert Einstein “Keep me away from wisdom which does not cry, the philosophy which does not laugh and the greatness which does not bow before children.” ~ Kahlil Gibran MORE QUOTES TO LIVE BY
