About Dorothy

Writer • Soul-Seeker • Founder of Aging Abundantly
For more than a decade, I’ve been exploring the inner terrain of midlife and beyond — that tender, powerful space where change and renewal meet . . . and transformation begins.
My work grew out of my own journey — through caregiving and caring too much, through loss, grief, depression, burnout, and PTSD. When I do something, I tend to go all in! 🙂 Out of that topsy-turvy inner world came a deep and lasting commitment to healing and wholeness. What began as a private effort to make sense of life’s upheavals gradually became a shared path of reflection, healing, and growth.
My Path
My formal background is in counseling and spiritual formation. I earned a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, where I immersed myself in the writings of Carl Jung and explored the intersection of psychology and spirituality. Later, my understanding of transformation was deepened by teachers such as Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Caroline Myss, Brené Brown, and Tara Brach — voices that continue to shape my work and my way of being.
My Work
Through my books — The Wisdom Within, Not Just Quotes, and Pathways — and through The Wisdom Within Newsletter on Substack and the Aging Abundantly community, I share reflections and stories that honor both the beauty and the challenge of growing older.
My hope is that my words offer companionship and encouragement — gentle reminders that healing and wholeness are not destinations, but ways of being we cultivate over time.
Beyond Words
When I’m not writing, you’ll likely find me crocheting in a comfy chair or out on the deck (my version of meditation), tending to my husband, or savoring a quiet moment in nature. My life, like yours, continues to unfold — imperfectly, beautifully, one day at a time.
