Protect Your Eyes from the Summer Sun

Solar Shield Sunglasses fit over top of existing eyewearAs a member of Vibrant Nation’s Vibrant Influencer Network, I recently was invited to try a pair of Dioptics Solar Shield Sunglasses and offer my feedback.  It was an easy invite to accept! My sensitive eyes and southern environs require sunglasses year round, especially since I’m an outdoor kinda gal and recently succumbed to the midlife woman have-to-have, “a convertible”.

When the Solar Shield Sunglasses arrived in my mailbox, I had to admit I was a bit concerned that I would not like them and I really hate to give bad reviews.  Designed to fit over top of prescription eye-wear,  I was pretty sure I was going to look in the mirror and see my mother looking back at me. After she developed cataracts  she used to wear humongous throw-away black sunglasses that the eye doctor gave her to wear  over her existing glasses.  In fact, every old person I knew who had had cataract surgery plunked such awful things on their faces. I was in for a pleasant surprise!

Solar Shield Sunglasses slipped over top of my existing eyeglasses with easy, but they look like regular sunglasses. The sleek, sturdy design is anything but throwaway and they provide top of the line UV sun protection for eyeglass wearers. The polarized lenses of Solar Shield sunglasses block horizontal light waves and significantly reduce glare and are made of exceptionally clear, high quality plastic.

GOOD HEALTH TIP: The older we get the more important it is to

wear protective eye wear when we are in bright sunlight.

Doing so can significantly reduce one’s risk of developing

or worsening existing cataracts. More Info from WebMd here.

I chose the “classic design” glasses, but they are also available in Fashion, Panorama, and Sport styles frames to suit every taste. Using the same advanced technology, Solar Shields also makes a clip-on version. The good news is that they can be purchased locally in the locations listed below or directly from the Solar Shield website. I have been wearing my Solar Shield Classics for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love them!

You can also follow Solar Shield on Facebook and you may be eligible to win a free pair! It’s also a great way to keep up-to-date with the company’s activities.
